PR Log (Press Release) –
Mar 22, 2010 – After a rigorous qualification procedure, Rowe Hankins has achieved International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) quality accreditation. This places them in the vanguard of rail industry system suppliers as few UK manufacturers and suppliers have yet achieved this world-class quality standard. The company is the first in the UK to qualify under the revised IRIS criteria.
Rowe Hankins specialise in speed control, wheel flange lubrication, high integrity circuit protection, on train monitoring and recording and other rail safety systems. This includes equipment of their own manufacture, high technology factored systems and a service to re-manufacture critical electro-mechanical components to restore their reliability and performance. The company is a supplier into OEM train manufacturers such as Alstom, Hitachi and Bombardier and a supplier to UK and international train operators and stock leasing companies.
Managing director Amanda Jones commented, “I am extremely proud of the way our team has worked together to achieve this recognition. This confirms to all existing and potential partners in the railway industry that we take every aspect of quality seriously and deliver the highest standard of service, consistently throughout the business.”
The IRIS assessment was undertaken by Bureau Veritas (formerly BVQI) a world leader in quality certification with offices in 100 countries. Certification is an international passport to trade and is recognised throughout the world. Rowe Hankins IRIS quality accreditation lasts for three years and will be under scrutiny by random audit by Bureau Veritas.
