PR Log (Press Release) –
Feb 17, 2010 – Auriga Systems, the UK-based Data Despatch supplier for taxi and private hire companies, has partnered with global PDA manufacturer, HTC, to offer new PDA options for its in-vehicle 'CTPocket' software.
Due for release in February 2010, the latest CTPocket software will be available on HTC's new Touch 2 and Touch Cruise (O2 XDA Guide) PDAs, as well as O2's XDA Orbit 2, and Acer's X960.
These four devices further bolster Auriga's existing selection of compatible PDAs for its CTPocket software, which serves as the in-vehicle partner to Auriga's office-based Evocab system.
Additionally, a new 'SIM hot swapping' feature allows drivers to switch GPRS networks simply by replacing the SIM card with one from any of the major data providers - thus affording drivers a flexible, near-instant back-up option in the event of network problems.
Auriga Systems General Manager Michael Ross today unveiled the new selection of devices, stating: "We can now offer our customers even more flexibility to choose the in-car units that are right for their drivers. PDA technology moves fast, but we struck an early agreement with HTC, and we are delighted to be able to offer CTPocket running on what are some of the most impressive devices currently available."
"Auriga customers can choose any of these PDAs - or 'mix and match' them as required - and be confident that their Evocab system will be able to work with them," Mr Ross continued. "We offer a flexible PDA solution: hardware can be bought from us or elsewhere. Likewise GPRS: we offer competitive tariffs via our relationship with BT Transcomm, but customers can source their own, or make use of an existing agreement they may have."
